I am an accountant and have been a resident of Williamsburg for the better part of 30 years.  Prior to this last presidential election, I was never involved in politics beyond voting for the president and sometimes the governor….and getting into the occasional political debate over a few beers.  I have always felt very strongly about civil rights for all humans, public education, and protecting the environment.  Unfortunately,  I, like many others became complacent and took for granted that our country was continually moving forward. Slowly but surely doing the right things for all of its people and its environment.  Starting 1/20/2017 my fears became reality when the current administration literally began the process to move our country backwards….actually reversing progress.  A few days after inauguration, I decided to get involved and found my home at Peninsula Indivisible.

I am a mother and software engineer. Like many people, I became active in politics in November of 2016. At the time, I was concerned about our country at a national level, but quickly learned that our local and state governments need just as much work. I am committed to making progressive values central part of our local, state and national governments.

Born and raised in South Carolina, I retired after 23 years of active duty with the USAF and another 20 years serving the USAF in a civil service capacity. Though always very politically aware, I was never politically active beyond voting in all local and national elections. However, the outcome of our last Presidential election moved me to seek out and pursue an activist role that may help preserve our democratic values and traditions.
